Media File Corrupter Tools
Media formats are built to survive damage: players skip broken regions and image decoders resynchronise after a bad chunk. What none of them survive is losing the index: the MP4 moov atom, the JPEG scan markers, the PNG chunk headers. That is what these tools target. Light level instead produces the glitch-art effect.
Each tool at a glance
- Image Corrupter .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .bmp
JPEG markers. The SOI, SOF, DHT and SOS markers are destroyed, so no decoder can begin a scan. - GIF Corrupter .gif
The GIF header. TheGIF89asignature is destroyed, so the file is no longer identified as a GIF. - SVG Corrupter .svg, .svgz
The XML declaration. The opening declaration and<svg>root element are destroyed, so the document has no valid root. - PSD Corrupter .psd, .psb
The 8BPS signature. The file header declaring dimensions, colour mode and channel count is destroyed. - Illustrator Corrupter .ai, .eps
PDF structure. For modern AI files the%PDF-header, every xref section, the trailer and the%%EOFmarker are destroyed. - Video Corrupter .mp4, .mov, .mkv, .webm, .avi
The ftyp box. The brand identifier at the start of the file is overwritten, so the container type cannot be determined. - Audio Corrupter .mp3, .wav, .flac, .m4a, .aac
ID3 tags. The tag block at the start of the file (title, artist, artwork) is destroyed.
About these media tools
Every tool listed here runs the same engine. The dedicated pages exist because each format fails differently and it is worth knowing what to expect, which application shows which error, whether a repair feature will rescue the file, and what survives at each damage level.
What they have in common
- Nothing is uploaded. Every byte is processed in your browser.
- No size limit. Files are handled in 8 MB slices.
- The output looks normal. Same filename, byte length and MIME type.
- Four damage levels. From partial damage to cryptographic noise.
