Почему файлы e-book трудно испортить как следует
EPUB is a ZIP package of XHTML chapters; MOBI and AZW3 are PalmDB records with a BOOKMOBI header. Both formats are read from an index, and both are handled leniently by readers, Calibre in particular will rebuild a book from surprisingly little.

- EPUB container. The
mimetypeentry,META-INF/container.xml, the central directory and the EOCD record are all destroyed. - The OPF spine. The package document listing reading order and manifest entries is unreachable once the archive index is gone.
- MOBI headers. For Kindle formats the PalmDOC header, the
BOOKMOBIidentifier and theEXTHmetadata block are overwritten. - Chapter payload. Entropy is scattered through the compressed text records so carving tools recover nothing readable.

Which e-book formats are supported?
EPUB is handled as a ZIP package; MOBI, AZW, AZW3 and PRC are handled through the Kindle profile. Any other format falls back to the generic binary profile.
Will Calibre repair the book?
No. Calibre reconstructs a book by reading the manifest and spine, both of which are destroyed at Standard level and above.
Does DRM affect the result?
No. DRM wraps the content, but the container and record headers we target sit outside it.
Does the cover image survive?
No. Covers are stored inside the same container or record structure and are destroyed along with it.
