Почему файлы ODS трудно испортить как следует
An .ods spreadsheet stores every sheet, formula and cell style inside a single ZIP package. Because formulas are stored as text in content.xml, scattered damage often leaves a workbook that opens with a few broken cells, which is not the same as a broken file.
Что разрушает этот инструмент
- The package index. Local file headers, the central directory and the EOCD record are destroyed, so the archive cannot be enumerated.
- content.xml. The part holding every sheet, cell value and formula loses its entry header.
- The mimetype entry. ODF's uncompressed mimetype marker is overwritten, defeating format detection.
- Cached values. Entropy scattered through the compressed body destroys the cached results stored alongside each formula.

Will Calc recover any of the sheets?
No. Sheet data lives in content.xml inside the package; once the archive index is destroyed there is no way to reach it.
Does it also work on .xlsx?

Are formulas destroyed as well as values?
Yes. Both the formula text and the cached result live inside the same compressed part.
Can I keep the file size identical?
Yes. That is the default. The output is byte-for-byte the same length as the original.
